Patanga Estate | Residential

Nestled within the bushland of Patanga Estate in the Hunter Valley, Patanga Cabin is a contemporary off-grid retreat designed to immerse guests in the surrounding landscape. As the first stage of a broader masterplan by Fabric Studio, the cabin reflects a philosophy of living lightly on the land through considered, sustainable design.

Positioned for optimal solar orientation and carefully integrated into its site, the architecture balances simplicity with warmth. A restrained palette of charred timber, natural materials and expansive glazing allows the building to recede into the landscape while framing ever-changing views of the bush beyond.

Compact yet highly functional, the cabin combines passive environmental principles, high-performance construction and bespoke interior detailing to create a comfortable, energy-efficient retreat. Every decision, from its minimal footprint to its off-grid infrastructure, reinforces a commitment to thoughtful architecture that connects people with place, offering a quiet, authentic escape immersed in nature.
